Weekend Entertainment
Tenacious is a cool name for a cool band. I’ve seen these dudes perform twice in the
Baltimore area, both times at the Cheeseburger in Paradise , in Pasadena and I like them more each time I see them. Not
your average rock and roll band, Tenacious can get you clapping to an up-tempo rock tune and dancing to a 70’s
ballad, rocking to a Creedence number to Van Morrison ballad tune and lots of places in between.
Tenacious is it what is says, no limits to the style or venue of music they play and it is
played from the opening selections by Henderix, Tom Petty and ZZ Top to rocking the house with standard tunes of Lynard
Skynard, Eric Clapton and Stevie Ray Vaughn.
The cover material also includes such artist as Free, Bad Company, Eric Clapton, The Doobie Brothers,
Neil Young, Billy Joel, The Eagles, and The Georgia Satellites to name a few.
Mike McCarthy and Dan Evans are the “Lead” singers for a majority
of songs. Each an accomplished vocalist in their own right.
John Gleim provides a steady upbeat
on drums and percussion blending in with back up vocals in harmony with Dan,Tom and Mike.
The
lead guitarist is Dan Evans and also sings lead on a few numbers and backup vocals who will please you with his leads that
are tasteful, energetic and rocking. Belting them out with feeling and enthusiasm all night long.
Mike McCarthy plays rhythm
guitar and sings lead on several songs bringing in that country sound to the mixture.
Tim Will, is on
the multi-keyboards, switching from a Hammond sound to honky-tonk piano to the sound of a three piece horn section. His fills
are melodic and blend very well with Dan Evans and Mike Reesee on bass.
Mike Reese is on bass and
does sing a few lead vocals provides a solid beat on the bass and sings very well and adds with backup vocals to many tunes.
This is Tenacious, a very talented five piece group, fun to watch and listen to
group from the Baltimore area. They usually play in the Maryland area of Anne Arundel County, the Pasadena, Severn, Glen Burnie,
Hanover and Brooklyn areas and are well worth a trip to see.
